Regional Hawker Showcase at Raffles Courtyard

Spanning four instalments from July to October 2024,  look forward to our collaboration with hawker food authority Makansutra, as we unveil beloved Southeast Asian specialties that are rarely found in Singapore and present the culinary heroes behind them.

4 to 10 September 2024

The spotlight is on Mr. Raaghavendra Arivalagan, the third hawker featured in the Regional Hawker Showcase at Raffles Courtyard. He will represent his father, Mr. Arivalagan Ponnusamy, a renowned Putu Mayong master from Penang, Malaysia. For over 40 years, Mr. Arivalagan Ponnusamy has honed his craftsmanship in creating Putu Mayong, a local delicacy made from vermicelli-like rice flour noodles.

Experience his exquisite Putu Mayong in a trio of variations—original, pandan, and brown rice—served with grated coconut, brown sugar, and two savoury curries: a creamy vegetable curry and a delectable fish curry.
